St. Vincent de Paul Music Ministry
The purpose of St. Vincent de Paul Music Ministry is to lead the People of God in sacred song and to strive toward an artistic excellence, which, in its earthly beauty, reveals something of the profound beauty of God. Music enriches liturgy as sung prayer, and as artistic expression that can transcend words and make visible the invisible. As St. Augustine so aptly remarked, "One who sings well prays twice."

Canticum Novum
Canticum Novum ("new song") provides music for the 9:30 Sunday Mass. The choir's repertoire consists of the Church's treasury of sacred music as well as contemporary works in the classical style. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. The choir is currently on summer hiatus.
Contemporary Choir

The Contemporary Choir, directed by Mike and Meg Hall, provides music for the 11:30 Sunday Mass. The choir is a vibrant group consisting of a combination of singers and various instrumentalists. Rehearsals are on Sundays at 10:30. Contact Meg or Mike if you would like to join. |

Youth Choir
| The Youth Choir provides music for various liturgies on a monthly basis. These include Sunday Masses, K-8 School Masses, and certain feast days. Membership is open to third through eighth graders. Children need not be members of the parish school to join the choir, and no audition is necessary. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:00 during the academic year. The choir is currently on summer hiatus. |

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir provides music for select parish and school liturgies, often working together with the Youth Choir. Membership is open to third through eighth graders, and children need not be members of the parish school to join the choir. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00 during the academic year. Friends of Music
Thank you to all who have contributed to the new Friends of Music fund, in support of Music Ministry at St. Vincent de Paul. Friends of Music helps stabilize and sustain SVdP Music Ministry by funding the purchase of sheet music and other supplies for the choirs, providing instrumentalists (such as strings and brass) for Christmas and Easter, and once the fund is well-established, it will be able to support professional section leaders for Canticum Novum.
Gifts to Friends of Music may be given in any amount, and are tax-deductible. Contributions may be made during the Sunday offertory collection; simply write "Friends of Music" on the memo line of your check, or enclose your gift in an envelope labeled "Friends of Music." Our choirs are deeply grateful for your generosity; your support really makes a difference!
