Lenten Offerings

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes on Holy Saturday. The six Sundays in Lent are not counted among the forty days of lent because each Sunday represents a "mini-Easter", a celebration of Jesus' victory over sin and death.

Stations of the Cross

Soup SupperOn the Fridays of Lent we will pray the Stations fo the Cross, as we follow the path taken by our Lord. Stations begin at 6:00 p.m., afterwards please join us for a simple Soup Supper, prepared by volunteers of a number of different ministries of the parish. It will be served in the cafeteria immediately afther the Stations.  On Good Friday there will be no Soup Supper, and the Stations of the Cross will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the church.

Seder Feast

We will experience an adaptation of the traditionally Jewish meal which Jesus observed at the Last Supper. "Seder" means order. The Seder meal includes many ritual foods of the Passover meal. The Senior Ministry Team will be hosting the Seder Meal on Holy Thursday, April 1st, in the cafeteria. We will gather at 11:30 a.m., and begin the Seder at noon. Since the Seder meal is rather light, we will serve lamb or chicken after the Seder celebration is over. We ask that everyone bring a salad or side dish for that portion of the meal. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome, but reservations must be made ahead of time as space is limited and numbers are needed for food preparation. The deadline for reservations is March 25th, call 303-744-6119.

Triduum Schedule of Holy Week

Remember as we begin the Triduum there are no 6:30 or 8:00 a.m. Masses this coming Thursday, Friday or Saturday. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 a.m. on those days.   The events of the Triduum, are events which incorporate our whole self, including our bodies because where our bodies go our minds are sure to follow. This applies to the Foot washing ritual on Maundy Thursday, venerating the cross with a bow, a kiss. or a kneel, following the paschal candle through the darkness which will never overcome it, making the sign of the cross to remind ourselves that we have, in our baptism, died with Christ in the certainty that we will be raised with Christ. It's one thing to just talk about these events. Moreover, we need to enter into them with our hearts,. minds and bodies.
Holy Thursday, Mass of the Last Supper at 7:00 p.m., On this day four events are commemorated: the washing of the Disciples' Feet by Jesus Christ, the institution of the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper, the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot.
Good Friday, Passion of Our Lord with Veneration of the Cross at 3:00 p.m., On Good Friday, the entire Church fixes her gaze on the Cross at Calvary, and tries to understand at what cost Christ has won our redemption. In the solemn ceremonies of Good Friday, in the Adoration of the Cross, in the chanting of the 'Reproaches', in the reading of the Passion, and in receiving Communion, we unite ourselves to our Savior, and we contemplate our own death to sin in the Death of our Lord.Good Friday Stations of the Cross, 7:00 p.m., The last of our Lenten Friday Stations of the Cross, following Christ's journey to Calgary. ( No Soup Supper)

 Easter Vigil

Easter Vigil, 8:00 p.m., We begin with the Service of Light outside of Church and process in spreading light throughout the church. Sacraments of Initiation and Professions of Faith are made; and Mass is followed by a reception for those receiving the Sacraments for the first time. A beautiful Mass rich with our Catholic traditions. Please join us if you can.

Easter Sunday

Easter Morning Masses, 7:30, 9:30, 9:45 overflow in gym, & 11:30 a.m. How blessed is this day, when earth and heaven are joined and humankind is reconciled to God!
